Director of Indigenous Research
Brittany Bingham is of mixed ancestry and a proud member of the shíshálh (Sechelt) Nation, she is a mom to two beautiful children and an Indigenous health researcher. She earned her PhD in Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University and has recently been appointed as the Director of Indigenous Research in a joint role between Vancouver Coastal Health Aboriginal Health and the Centre for Gender & Sexual Health Equity (CGSHE). Brittany has worked in various different capacities in research with Indigenous communities and policy for over 15 years. She is passionate about Indigenous research methods, health equity, Indigenous women's health, housing and homelessness, cultural safety and reconciliation. Brittany is passionate about the need for equitable health systems to improve Indigenous community health and decolonizing approaches to primary health care delivery.
